Reederei Nord makes Guangzhou shipyard good for feeders

GERMANY's Reederei Nord has placed an order for two firm 1,930-TEU containerships at Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard for an undisclosed price.

The vessels are to be delivered in 2025 and the order comes with options for two more vessels, reports Singapore's Splash 247.

Suez Canal Authority posts its highest ever daily transit rate

SUEZ Canal Authority head Osama Rabie announced that the canal achieved its highest daily throughput rate in history, with 107 ships transiting in both directions and a net tonnage of 6.3 million tons, reports the Egypt Independent.

Of these, 56 ships with a net tonnage of 3.4 million tons passed through the canal from the north, while 51 ships with a net tonnage of 2.9 million tons crossed from the south.

MSC drops India calls as it reforms service network

THE Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) has discontinued calls to the Mumbai ports of Nhava Sheva (JNPT) and Mundra on its Falcon service, reports New York's Journal of Commerce.

The revised weekly string will have new stops at Xingang, Busan and Xiamen, starting with a March 20 sailing from Xingang.
